STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO — On August 5 at 7:00 PM, the highly anticipated documentary “5000 Miles 5000 Mustangs” made its premiere as a marquee event of the Colorado Wild Horse Film Fest. Attendees experienced an unforgettable journey into the heart of America through a young woman’s mission to showcase the courage and versatility of our nation’s Living Legends.

With two sold-out theaters and a VIP reception before the screening, the film was the kick-off for a weekend of wild horse education and adoption at the Wild Horse Refuge. Following the screening, the Q&A with Film Star Lisanne Fear and Film Producer/Director Julianne Neal gave the audience behind the scenes stories, "where are they now" for the mustangs, dogs and people, and an update on the future of the film through festivals, in person events and potential eventual distribution.

A MUSTANG STORY: Season 1

On November 29, 2022, Lisanne Fear and her team of formerly wild Mustangs stepped onto Limantour Beach, CA after a grueling cross-country ride. She spent 14 months crossing 12 states on the American Discovery Trail to bring awareness to 70,000+ Mustangs in holding. From Delaware to California, she encountered highways and country roads, bridges and ferries, heatwaves and copperheads, hatefulness and incredible kindness from complete strangers.
